The content material to be covered in different learning
outcomes has to be delivered at different cognitive levels. These cognitive
levels vary from learn to understand to evaluate to apply. Based on these
cognitive levels a suitable teaching strategy needs implemented and an appropriate
assessment strategy devised.
Some of the assessments are formative thus providing
students timely feedback where as some of the assessments are summative. Comprehensive
real world projects with presentation and oral defense cover all the cognitive
levels effectively: Learn the basic definition; Understand the concepts behind
them; Evaluate and apply these concepts to a given scenario and give
recommendations.
